Magic Potion

Me - Lana you need to get ready for bed. Put your jammies on please.
Alana - no.
Me - you're being a naughty girl.
Alana - you're being a bad mom.
Me - *shocked* you're being a bad girl.
Alana - I wished I had a magic potion so I can turn you small. And then I'm going to step on you.

I wish I was that creative with my response when I was a 4 year old :)

College

In the car ride home from football practice..,

I: Mom, I don't want to go to college when I grow up.
M: Why not?
I: Because I don't want to move away from home.
M: You have to go to college and you don't have to move away. There are colleges near home.
I: No, when you go to college you have to move away.
M: Auntie Tasha went to college and still lived with grandma.
A: Mom, when I'm a big girl I have to go to college and move away right?
M: Yes, when you're a big girl.
I: What?! So auntie Tasha lived with grandma and has her own house?
M: No, she moved out after college and bought her own house.
I: Wow, grandma has a lot of kids.
M: Yep, auntie Tasha, mommy, uncle Sai and uncle Tommy.
A: Don't forget auntie Stephanie!
M: No, auntie Stephanie has her own mom. She's uncle Sai's girlfriend.
I: Mom, when is uncle Sai and auntie Stephanie getting married?
M: Uncle Sai is working on saving money to buy a ring and marry her.
A: Yea uncle is going to marry her and buy her a ring!
I: It's taking so long...I think they've been together for a year...or maybe a month! I don't know it's been a long time.
M: It's ok they have to work to save money.
A: Uncle Sai needs to get a ring and he's working hard!!!

Conversation of the day

Isaiah:  Mom, were you and dad friends when you were little?
Me:  No, we weren't friends when we were younger.
Isaiah:  Why not?
Me:  Because dad is much older than mom so we couldn't have been friends.
Isaiah:  What?
Me:  Well, think about this.  How old are you Isaiah?  8?  When dad was 8 years old, mom wasn't even born yet.
Isaiah:  What!?!

Forehead

Today marks another milestone for my little guy.  I went in to give Isaiah his usual hug and kiss after dropping him off at school and he gave me his forehead (the kind where a guy or girl doesnt want to receive a kiss so they lean their forehead into you).  I can feel the pressure of his forehead telling me to leave.  After school, I asked him about this and he smiled like he was caught red handed.  He told me that its uncool in front of his friends to give him a hug and kiss but he still loves me the most :)
